Approved templates outside the window
You can still write 24 hours after the customer's message with a utility or marketing template Meta has approved; the window is counted by Meta's clock.
Comparison
Tools that link a phone session by QR code are easy to start with, but WhatsApp's Terms of Service prohibit bulk and automated messaging. On the official WhatsApp Business Platform, the number and the account are yours, and the rules are clear from day one.

The differences
We compare two ways of working, not individual products.
| Topic | Official platform (UPPU) | QR-based tools |
|---|---|---|
| How the number connects | Your own WhatsApp Business account, through Meta's signup flow | A phone's WhatsApp session is paired with a web session by scanning a QR code |
| Rules that apply | Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform terms and messaging policy | WhatsApp's Terms of Service prohibit bulk and automated messaging and automated access |
| Account risk | Meta manages quality and messaging limits; you see delivery statuses and Meta's quality information in the panel | WhatsApp can suspend or disable an account that breaks its terms |
| Writing after 24 hours | With approved templates (utility, marketing) | No template system |
| Consent and opt-out | Consent ledger; STOP, DUR and İPTAL withdraw consent | Usually not built in |
| Delivery statuses | Sent, delivered and read, with Meta errors explained | Depends on the tool's session; no official statuses |
| Team | Four roles, assignment, masked numbers | Usually a single session |
| Cost | UPPU plan plus Meta's per-message fees (1,000 free service messages per number each month) | Flat fees and no-limit offers; risk of losing the number |
This is a category-level comparison; individual tools may differ. The rules and account-risk rows rest on WhatsApp's Terms of Service (last checked: 21 October 2026).

What we say about unofficial tools rests on WhatsApp's own Terms of Service. The quotes are from the terms:
Prohibited use
“bulk messaging, auto-messaging, auto-dialing, and the like”
Possible consequence
“we may take action with respect to your account, including disabling or suspending your account”

In short: the way WhatsApp recognizes for bulk or automated business messaging is Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. UPPU runs on that platform, and you connect your number with your own account.
Official platform
Beyond playing by the rules, tools your team and your systems can use today.
You can still write 24 hours after the customer's message with a utility or marketing template Meta has approved; the window is counted by Meta's clock.
Marketing templates need a recorded consent, and anyone who replies STOP, DUR or İPTAL withdraws it.
Sent, delivered and read statuses, with Meta's error codes explained.
Four roles, assignment and masked numbers; the conversation history stays with the company, not on staff phones.
REST API v1 and signed webhooks; the Idempotency-Key on sends prevents duplicate messages.
A 9-item checklist shows every setup step, and you get an email when an item turns red.
There's also the app
The free phone app is a good start for small teams. The difference shows once your team grows and your systems come in.
| Topic | WhatsApp Business app | UPPU |
|---|---|---|
| Who it suits | Small teams replying from a phone | Teams working together and businesses with systems |
| Roles and permissions | None | Owner, Admin, Agent, Auditor |
| Assignment | None | Manual; automatic on live chat too |
| Masked numbers | None | For agents |
| Who keeps the history | On the device account | In the company's UPPU workspace |
| API and webhooks | None | REST API v1 and signed webhooks |
| Privacy tools | None | Retention, erase, export, audit log |
| Writing after 24 hours | Free-form | With an approved template (Meta's rule) |
| Cost | Free | UPPU plan plus Meta's message fees |
| Same number on the phone app | Yes | Not today |
The table compares both products as they are today; the app's features can change at Meta's discretion.
Switching
We're happy to plan the switch with you; these are the steps.
A number connected to the official platform can't be used in the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app on a phone at the same time. Remove the number from the app, or start with a new number.
Sign up on app.uppu.net: a 14-day free trial, no credit card (the inbox interface is in Turkish today).
The UPPU team enables WhatsApp for your workspace. You connect your number in Meta's window with your own Meta account and add a payment method to it.
To write outside the 24-hour window, create utility and marketing templates in the panel; Meta approves them.
Work together with roles, assignment and canned replies.

FAQ
Let's look at your number's situation together: info@uppu.net
All questionsA number connected to the official platform can't be used in the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app on a phone at the same time, so you first remove the number from the app or start with a new number. Then the UPPU team enables WhatsApp for your workspace and you connect the number in Meta's window with your own account. Writing after 24 hours needs an approved template, and marketing needs a recorded consent. The steps are in our comparison of the official API and QR tools.
No. UPPU doesn't import old chats or the contact list from the phone; conversations start with the messages that arrive after the number is connected. Before you remove the number from the app, keep your old chats with WhatsApp's chat backup or its export chat feature.
It depends on where the number is today: in another provider's WhatsApp Business account, in the phone app, or in an unofficial tool? Write to us and we'll plan the move with you.
No platform can rule that out, but UPPU runs on Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta usually restricts numbers that break its rules: unsolicited bulk messages, content people report, or low quality. In UPPU, marketing templates need a recorded consent and anyone who writes STOP has their consent withdrawn, and you see delivery statuses and explanations of Meta's errors in the panel (in Turkish today). Our comparison of the official API and QR tools sets out how unofficial tools differ.
Yes, the number and the account are yours. Today a number connected to UPPU can't be used in the WhatsApp Business app on your phone at the same time; you can also start with a new number.
Yes. UPPU runs on Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API). You connect your own WhatsApp Business account and number through Meta's signup flow, and the UPPU team enables WhatsApp for your workspace. It is not the same as tools that link a phone session by scanning a QR code.
There is no campaign or bulk-send screen in the panel. You can send approved templates from your own system through the API, within Meta's messaging limits and consent rules; sends are limited to 20 per second per key, and marketing templates need a recorded consent. Consent duties for commercial messages, such as Türkiye's İYS registry, stay with you.
WhatsApp message fees aren't included in UPPU's price; Meta charges them separately. The fee depends on the message category and the recipient's country code, and since 1 October 2026 the first 1,000 service messages per business number each month are free. We explain the calculation on the pricing page.
